Reynolds Park (3 miles)

On the short hike to Reynolds Park campsites.
Want something as short and easy as White Ranch Park for backpacking beginners? Consider Reynolds Park. The hike in is just as easy and can be made even faster by walking up an access road, making it a great alternative - or second place to go after White Ranch. I prefer the layout at White Ranch over Reynolds, which has sites on a hillside that make it a bit less comfortable to hang out at than White Ranch. The one big pro of Reynolds Park, though, is that it’s a bit higher in elevation, so you can go there a bit further into the summer season.

What makes it special?
It’s White Ranch Park with a less optimal layout and higher elevation. If you’re looking at a second spot to take a new backpacker to (after White Ranch Park, which is generally better), this is a good option.
Campsites and permits
Camping is in designated spots and on tent pads (each spot accomodates one tent on average).
Spots at Idylease Campground can be reserved in advance here.

Alternate route
It’s not even worth showing a map for it. But, if you need faster access in (or out in the case of any problems, you can access the campground via a dirt access road just south, southeast of the hiking trails. It’s around 1/2 mile long.)
